Graphite Packing Carbon Reinforced Chesterton 1400RC Chesterton 1400R is a unique, reinforced, braided, corrosion-inhibited graphite tape packing. Carbon yarn reinforcement is provided in the graphite tape yarn as well as the braid construction. 1400R forms a homogeneous mass under the pressure of the gland, so that leakage cannot penetrate the packing set. The all-carbon/graphite set withstands higher shaft speeds while limiting shaft friction.
